LIMESTONE COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD
Purpose
To recognize, at the Select Boards complete discretion, those who have or currently are providing public service to the Town of Limestone worthy of recognition, to wit:
- Past Members of the Select Board;
- Volunteer (completely unpaid) efforts benefiting the people of Limestone;
- Town of Limestone employees/paid volunteers honorably representing the Town;
- Annual Report dedication recipients, or other individuals/dignitaries that the Select Board believes deserving of recognition by the Town of Limestone.
Description
The Limestone Community Service Award (“Award”) is an approximately 1” gold in color rosette lapel pin containing the official Town of Limestone seal with 1869 affixed in the sky of the official seal. See Figure 1 page attached.
Etiquette
The Award, once issued, may be worn by the recipient on the left side jacket lapel or the left side of other shirts/outdoor clothing. In the case of those wearing a Limestone associated uniform, the Award shall be placed on the right-side pocket flap, ½” from the outmost edge, ½” from pocket flaps top seam. Those receiving replacement Award pins for lost or stolen Award pins will require the approval, in writing, of the Select Board Chair.
Action to Award
The Award’s issuance is solely at the discretion of the Town of Limestone Select Board, where a unanimous en banc decision is required for its award*. Once approved, the Award is presented by the Select Board Chair to the recipient with a sealed confirmation letter signed by the Chair of the Select Board.
(*) Any newly elected Select Board Member from 2025 onward who has not already been issued the Award shall receive said Award at the first meeting of the Board following their election.
Inaugural Issuance
The Awards inaugural issuance shall be to the 2025 elected Select Board Members, who are: Irma Labreck, Tim Busse, Troy O’Bar, Randall Brooker, and Alan Mulherin.
Adopted as a Rule of the Select Board, this 2nd day of July, 2025, as noted in the minutes of the meeting with the same date. This Rule shall only be rescinded with a unanimous vote of all Select Board Members en banc.
